Celebrating the changing seasons and why we love Dane County throughout the entire year. Frozen-up, Sugar River, a dramatic natural landscape painting (original: oil on board, 18? x 24?, 2007) by Belleville artist Jonathan Wilde, appears on the Dane County Cultural Affairs Commission?s 2008 art poster. It honors the Commission?s more than thirty years of community service and is the twenty-eighth art poster in an annual series presented to citizens countywide. Generously supported by Alliant Energy, the striking 30 X 27 inch posters are available for a donation at the Cultural Affairs Office, Room 421 of the City-County Building, 210 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Madison, 608-266-4296. Office hours are 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Donations help support the programs of the Cultural Affairs Commission that benefit all citizens throughout Dane County.

Other distribution sites include the city and village halls of Belleville, Cambridge, Cross Plains, DeForest, Maple Bluff, Marshall, Mazomanie, McFarland, Middleton, Monona, Mount Horeb, Shorewood Hills, Stoughton, Sun Prairie, Verona, and Waunakee. They are also available at the town halls of Blooming Grove, Dunn, Middleton, Oregon, Springfield, Sun Prairie, Verona and Westport. Companion bookmarks that feature a detail of the painting are available without charge at Dane County community libraries.

Jonathan Wilde has been painting full-time since May 1970 when he finished four years at the University of Wisconsin-Madison as a zoology major. His subject matter has consistently been the birds and landscapes of Southern Wisconsin, where his roots and passion lie. Wilde?s style is representational, which is how he finds he can reproduce his vision---that which inspires him. Over the years, Wilde has been shown in many of Wisconsin?s major galleries and juried shows. He presently is represented by Artisan Gallery in Paoli, WI, Broden Gallery in Madison, WI, and Edgewood Orchard Galleries in Fish Creek, WI.

Winding Road, a watercolor landscape by Stoughton artist Steven Kozar, appears on the Dane County Cultural Affairs Commission?s 2007 art poster. The new edition, featuring a panoramic view along Kegonsa Road north of Stoughton on a summer morning, celebrates the commission?s thirtieth anniversary of community service. It is the twenty-seventh in an annual series distributed by the commission throughout the county. The poster is the second one to feature one of Kozar?s rural Wisconsin landscapes, painted in his photo-realistic style. Garden Harvest reproduces an oil painting by Wisconsin artist John Sayers, the twenty-seventh in an annual series, created by the commission for Dane County residents with corporate support from Alliant Energy.

The 26-by-30-inch poster is available at the Cultural Affairs Office, Room 421 of the City-County Building, 210 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., 266-4296. Although there is no charge for the poster, donations of any size are welcomed to help cover printing costs.

Summer on the Prairie, an oil painting by Wisconsin artist Robert Ekholm, appears on the Dane County Cultural Affairs Commission's 2005 art poster. It is the twenty-sixth in an annual series produced by the commission for Dane County residents.
